CONTENTS Part II

An exhibition of jewellery, objects and furniture by ten artists and makers. Responding to the setting of the renovated Victorian chapel, the exhibition uses its architecture and history as a point of departure for exploring materiality and meaning within craft.

Both jewellery and furniture are objects intended for private use and appreciation within intimate and domestic contexts. By bringing these objects into the communal space of the chapel, viewers enter the nave to encounter the quiet stories of each artist.

Through diverse approaches and disciplines, the pieces demonstrate how objects can create dialogues between personal and collective narratives by expanding on traditional processes of making. Ultimately exploring the relationship between the individual and the shared.
